EVENT:
Freestyle ski with interval start. Distance will be 3K.
Ski 1K loop and shoot. Ski 1K loop and shoot again. Ski 1K
loop and shoot a third time.
Missed shots cost you a one minute penalty on your final time.
Five shots per round with air rifle
(provided by us). Rifle distance is at 25 feet. Shooting positions to be determined at race time. Guns are to be left on site.
Ski rental available. If there is not enough snow to ski, you will have to run the course and shoot.
EQUIPMENT:
You will need skis of course but DO NOT bring your own weapon! Everyone will shoot from a common pool of air rifles
available for free use. You may wish to have ear plugs but there is minimal percussion from air rifles. You may also wish to wear
safety googles but you must carry them on your own person.
RULES:
Participants will ski a defined 1K course. You will stop at the shooting station, fire five shots at your target and continue to
ski. You will then ski another 1K loop and repeat the above two more times. When you cross the finish line your time will be recorded.
After all the participants have finished, your targets will be collected and your misses totaled. Every miss will result in a one minute
penalty added to your finish time. In the unlikely event that the weapons malfunction, a scorekeeper at the shooting station will give
you a time credit for the malfunction.
SAFETY CONCERNS:
All gun safety rules apply. Only point the rifles at the target. Make sure you are shooting at your own target
and not an adjacent target. Reckless discharge of your weapon that endangers another participant or official will result in your immediate
removal from the competition.
NOTE: If you see another participant that is injured on the course, YOU MUST STOP TO RENDER
AID. YOU ARE NOT TO PASS THEM BY BECAUSE YOU ARE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR OWN TIME! This is a serious competition but everyone
must look out for their fellow competitors. Course marshalls will be located around the loop so help will be forthcoming. If you have to
stop to give aid to a fellow competitor you will be given some time consideration on your final finish. Let's have a spirited, fun and safe
competition!
