THE EVENT:
Wintersportsfest - 2010 Biathlon Championship
LOCATION:
Muskegon Winter Sports Complex - N. Muskegon
TIME:
Saturday, February 27, 2010. (new date)
Registration and check in at 2 pm at the Biathalon Trailer
in the parking lot. (new time)
Pre-registration is highly recommended to avoid delaying the start! Absolutely no registrations after 2:45 pm!
Competition starts at 3 pm sharp.
AGE DIVISIONS:
13-15, 16-17, 18-19 male and female division
FORMAT:
Ski Biathlon. Interval start . Free Style. Age groups 13 – 19 ski three 1.2 Km. loops with shoots after each ski. Missed shots get 1 minute put on the end time per shots missed. 5 shots per round. Air rifles are shot in lanes over a 20 ft distance.
Guns will be supplied and left on site. Lane officers will monitor shoot lanes. If there is no snow, we will run the course in place of the ski.
Distance run could be altered for the run.
Ski rental available on site. Call ahead to reserve equipment if needed for the race. **You may not bring your own weapon! You must use the guns provided at the site. Guns stay at the shoot station and are not transported by the competitors while skiing.
SAFETY:
Range marshals will monitor the firing line. Any unsafe act by a competitor will result in disqualification.
AWARDS:
1st through 3rd medallions for each age and gender division
ENTRY FEE:
$5 per person, includes use of guns.
Bring your own skis or you may rent at the facility.
