DESCRIPTION:
The event: The youth luge competition will be
run in both boys and girls age groups, as specified by international luge rules. Each athlete will have two timed runs, and the times combined for the total score.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
Helmets and elbow pads are required, as well as gloves. The Complex will supply the helmets and pads, along with the sleds needed for the competition.
RULES:
Each competitor will be given two timed practice runs before the official timed runs. Late registration and practice begin at 100 pm, with timed runs beginning at 2:30 pm. All runs timed to the nearest thousandth of a second by electronic timing.
AGE DIVISIONS:
Youth D (age 10 and under), Youth C (age 11 and 12), Youth B (age 13 and 14), and Youth A (ages 15-18).
Boys and girls classes in each age group.
TIME:
Friday, Feb. 8 – Open practice and registration, 5:30 - 8:30 pm
Sunday, Fri. 10 – Luge Competition – 2:30 pm
AWARDS:
Medals to first three places in each age division.
ENTRY FEE:
$20, includes Friday night practice, Sunday competition,
and a free t-shirt.
